Privacy
Short version: your video, your sound and your captions stay on your device.
Your video
Your video is never uploaded. Finding the words, showing the captions and saving the final video all happen in your browser, on your phone or computer.
What is saved on your device
So you don't lose your work if the page closes, your captions and style choices are saved in your browser. They stay there until you clear your browser data. The first time you get the words from a video, a speech model is downloaded and kept in your browser so later videos start faster.
What we count
To see what works and fix what doesn't, we count page visits and simple usage events, such as whether a transcription or export finished, how long the video was and which caption style was used. They go to our analytics service (PostHog) with a random ID kept in your browser. No cookies, no account, and never your video, its sound, its words or its file name.
What we do not do
- We don't receive, store or look at your videos, audio or captions.
- We don't ask you to sign up or give an email address.
- We don't add a watermark to your videos.
